Peaceful and Relaxing
If you want a realxing break away from it all, this is the ideal site. The site has a nature trail down by the river ideal if you want a walk with the dogs.it has an extensive orchard and a dog walk where you can excercise pets.
The postman delivers papers and you can get basic supplies from reception , they also offer a dog sitting service though i have not tried it out.
The toilet facilities are very clean and they have built a new shower block there is constant improvement on the site all year round.
There is a pub within walking distance from the site however as there is no footpath it can be a bit dangerous when dark as its a bit winding.
Mobile reception is very poor.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE!
WE STAYED HERE IN THE HEIGHT OF THE SUMMER AND HAD A MARVELLOUS TIME! THE OWNERS RECYCLE EVERYTHING AND GIVE YOU LOADS OF HELP TO DO THE SAME. THE GARDENS ARE JUST THAT - GARDENS, AND NO GROUNDSHEET MEANS GRASS UNDERFOOT EVERY MORNING WHICH IS LOVELY. SHOWERS AND LOOS BRILLIANT AND LOADS TO DO IN THE AREA, ALTHOUGH WE SPENT LOTS OF TIME JUST RELAXING AS THE SITE IS JUST LIKE A BACK GARDEN, AND NO MOWING TO DO! NO FACILITIES ON SITE MEANS IT IS AS QUIET AS CAN BE, AND WE EVEN SAW A BADGER. RAY IS A CHARACTER AND A HALF, AND VAL HAS HERE OWN LITTLE TRUCK! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR A QUIET AND RELAXING STAY.

Excellent site
Excellent site. Cleanest shower block you will ever find. Not so dog friendly, one small circular walk. Not very child friendly, no seperate area for ball games.. Suit the older camper. Shop very limited in stock, no fresh bread, no pasties..

One night stay
We found the site clean and tidy reception was good.Dog area was not fenced in. The gates were locked between 11pm and 8.00am. The pitch was quite small and our veiw was restricted to the next caravan, if the site had been full then all views would be lost. There were no shops, bar or restaurants onsite. The nearest pub was 1.5 miles away. The nearest shop to our knowledge was approx 5 miles.

Wow what a fantastic site!!! Acres of beautiful wooded or landscaped areas, and so many amazing things to do for children.....and us big kids.
Clean shower/toilet blocks and everything we needed on site. Kids had a great time and so did we.

A good family site
On arrival we parked beside the reception area and booked in. The staff in reception were friendly and helpful. We set up on one of the relatively flat ,large, pitches. There were 2 large shower/toilet blocks, but very little hot water in the block near reception, and a separate toilet block.
The childrens play area was well equiped and central. They have a large bar/nightclub with free entertainment most evenings and just beside that is a reasonable takeaway.
The onsite shop was well stocked especially with camping and caravan accessories. There is a large indoor heated pool and an outdoor pool both with slides and both with lifeguards. The site itself is large, clean, and very easy to get to, with a field put aside for campers.

Well worth visiting
Visited this campsite and were very pleased with what we found, it certainly has changed since our last visit many years ago when the campsite was more exposed to the elements. The trees and hedges are now maturing nicely and this gives it a more secluded feel and certainly helps when the winds are blowing across the fields.
The new owners seem to be doing a really good job making improvements, with a new chemical disposal point being built at the moment and refurbishment of the shower block planned for 2010. Although being improved, the shower block as it stands is fine, nice and clean and warm.
The pitches are hard standing and a pretty good size, there are also grass pitches available and everything is well maintained.
We will def return if we can in 2010 as we enjoyed our stay very much

Excellent holiday site for caravans and tents
All that you could wish for in a camping site,we have had quiete a few holidays there over the last 3 years, it is being improved by site owners every month there is plenty to do there we had 10 days of rain there last august but we enjoyed it. The fishing lakes are well stocked but we found it too busy to fish seriously when the kids are on school holidays, best days for fishing are mon to friday, there is plenty to do for the kids , all pitches are marked with own tap and hook up, last year there were three familys of us together, two of which was there first time caravaning, this august there will be 5 of us with our own vans, also there is a well stocked camping and fishing equipment shop on site

Ferry Meadows Caravan Club Site
To find site:- Leave A1 towards the centre of Peterborough and follow signs for the 'Nene Valley Park' the campsite is situated just before the car parks.
This was one the first sites we ever stayed at when we started caravanning 20 years ago. We have visited this site four or five times as it is easy to get to from Milton Keynes. It certainly makes an ideal site for a weekend or even longer. It is situated in the Nene Valley Park which is in the outer suburbs of Peterborough within easy access from the A1. The Park provides wonderful opportunities for walks. If you want to visit the city centre the best way is to catch a steam train into the centre of Peterborough. The Nene Valley Railway runs along one side of the site and the station is a few minutes walk from the site. Also within easy walking distance is a Notcutts Garden Centre and a Beefeater Pub.
12 April 2004
The site is in two parts. The newer part of the site has mainly hard-standings. The original site (just across the road) is mainly grass pitches. Both parts have their own toilet blocks which are up to the usual CC high standards. This site tends to be very busy so its an idea to book, non members are accepted.

Cayton Village Caravan Park
Quite a good dog friendly campsite. Can't remember how much it is or if they charge for dogs, but it has a large field at the back for walking dogs (off lead) and about 1 mile up the road your onto Cayton Bay beach which is excellent for dogs, with no restrictions I'm aware of.
The facilities on the site are fine. There's a few pubs in the village as well as a fish and chip shop and Morrisons supermarket is only a 5 minute drive away. The only negative thing I'd say is that some of the pitches are close together.
