That little bit extra.
My wife and i arrived at stowford farm meadows on Mon 25,April 2011. Befor we had checked in to the reception, my wife had a fall(this later we found to be a stroke). The help and assistance we recived from all members of staff was really everything i could have wished for.I could could go on about how wonderful you all were but i think anyone reading this will know just how thankful we both are for that extra service you provided in our time of need.
Once again A BIG THANK YOU, i will always recomend Stowford farm Medows to anyone looking for that little bit extra.

discusting attitudes
I visited this site with my father a few yars ago, and decided to return. After looking on the wbsite to check that me and my brother inlaw and a friend could visit and nothing told us other wise, I called ahead and again asked if I could stay, as I didnt need an electric hook up I was told to just turn up. I arrived and as there was more than 2 adults in 1 tent we were turned away. Even though it was a 6 man tent. This was after I got a rather disgusted "certainly not" when the Lady at the camp site found out that we were all male. I had never felt any more humiliated and discriminated against in my whole life. I had travelled quite a way, hense why I called and checked in advance. I asked if they could suggest anywhere else, and they were very unhelpful. we tried a few places after this then returned to the site. When I asked the site owners again if they could help us find another place to stay, they again were un helpful and started to become quite abrupt, suggetsing I had made up the call, and they would never have allowed us to stay and would never have said yes on the phone, as they would not allow any single sex couples or groups, which I find extremely offensive. I was totally dissapointed and felt majorly let down.

easter sunshine
A very friendly and peacful small sites tucked in the countryside. We soent three glorious days there over easter in the sunshine. It really makes you wonder why anyone wants to go abroad. The whole site is very well kept and clean and my wife was most mpressed with the extensive vegetable garden, there was plenty space to excercise the dog and there was even a mini footie poitch for the kids. Being of borders ancerstry we spent much of the time touring around some of the hsitorical sites related to the border reivers and the anglo-scottish wars. The Hermitage Castle was particularly stunning. I'd recommend this site to anyone wanting to visit the scottish boders or as a stop over heading north... we will certailny be back for a longer stay over the summer. Really peaceful and relaxing small site.

Very average site
We are caravan club members and have been camping at home and abroad for 30 years. We were amazed that the site had 4 star rating. The toilets are clean and one block is well heated but many of the showers were poor or not working, locks missing . They were average and no more.
When we arrived they had lost the booking.
Our general impression was that the site is being run for the owners convenience rather than ours. Shop not open until 9.00 -for breakfast!
Reception office lacks warmth and is rarely open. The site was full when we got there - and empty when we left early. I was surprised by this as it was May and weather was good. The usual older caravanners who fill the sites up mid wek were not there although we would not go again unless it was essential as the ste is close to family.

Cracking CL
This CL offers you unrestricted views of the countryside with loads of space to pitch up. Electricity is metered so you only pay for what you use. The pictches are all grass and flat.
Within walking distance is a playground if you have children with you and further down the road is a pub with good food.
Well worth a visit.

Stowford Farm Meadows
Myself and my parents visit the site often as we have family there. We stay in a caravan on a large pitch with an auning and we still have lots of room on the pitch even with the car. We have only ever stayed in field 4 the block it very big and clean but it can get cold in the early months because the doors dont shut.
The activities and stuff are good they have 3 parks, heated inside pool, petorama (a hude indoor barn where you can get up close and personal with the animals like rabbits), crazy golf and my favourite the riding stables. They offer hacks and lessons for all ages and abilities, at a cheap price and for different time ranges from 1/2 hour to 4 hours. I am an experienced rider and i strongly recommend the 1, 2 and 4 hour hacks where you trot and canter and gallop! buts its optional if you want you can just walk. The horses are really nice and friendly and love a good groom!! The owners of the stables David and his partner are very nice and understanding and all th staff are very experienced.
the staff are really nice i know them all really well as my grandparents work there they are more than happy to help with any of your problems from collapsed aunings to escaping tortoises (yes tht really happened) and they will quite often say hello wen they are doing there jobs around the site
The on site shop is very useful we buy some of our groceries there its very good price and sells everything, the chipy is really good the food is sensational and if you go you just have to try a battered mars bar! it doesnt sound nice but give it a try you might like it. Often in high season the chippy is packed at around teatime (5-7pm) so you might want to get in there early
overall its a brilliant site perfect for families like mine and really fun and enjoyable! very clean and tidy and i really really recommend you visit there to have the time of your life
