Once again our family have visited this wonderful little site in South Cheshire, there have been a few changes since our last visit, all for the better I might add, not that it needed them but it's just brought it all up to scratch, the new Elsan point is now at the end of the field with the rubbish recycling and is separated from the drinking water supply by a fence, the toilet block is ample with three cubicles for the amount of campers even with one shower and a small washroom. Loads of space for the kids to ride their bikes and a huge field for them to play well away from the caravans to give elder campers some peace! This is a working dairy farm and as long as kids are well behaved the lovely people who own / run this site will usually accomodate in letting the kids have a look at the milking process in the early evening. We plan to visit again at least a few more tmes this year... nearest pub about 5 miles away, but, so what? Why not relax and have a drink in your own caravan and admire the beautiful views.

Put this little gem in your favorites!

We soent three glorious days there over easter in the sunshine. It really makes you wonder why anyone wants to go abroad. The whole site is very well kept and clean and my wife was most mpressed with the extensive vegetable garden, there was plenty space to excercise the dog and there was even a mini footie poitch for the kids. Being of borders ancerstry we spent much of the time touring around some of the hsitorical sites related to the border reivers and the anglo-scottish wars. The Hermitage Castle was particularly stunning. I'd recommend this site to anyone wanting to visit the scottish boders or as a stop over heading north... we will certailny be back for a longer stay over the summer. Really peaceful and relaxing small site.

We had a long weekend at Bridgehouse Marina in June 05. The campsite is on a seperate field next to the Marina, set back from the Lancaster Canal. Facilities include a well equipped toilet block and laundry, play area for the kids and site shop.

The pitches are randomly set out around the field, with the toilet block centrally located. The park is at the bottom of the field. The shop sells most basic goods, but is geared towards the boat owners rather than campers.

The site is well maintained and the owners are resident on-site. The town of Garstang is 2 minutes drive or 10 minutes walk and is a lovely village with small shops and supermarket. There is a pub just 2 minutes walk which serves food.

My parents have a boat at the adjoining marina, so we spent most of the weekend cruising. You can hire boats from the Marina at a reasonable price.

It was a peaceful, relaxing weekend with the kids having fun on the play area when on site.

It is a beautiful part of Lancashire and a great escape from city life. I am sure it has its only little micro climate as it was dry for us whilst raining elsewhere!
