I have now stayed here 2 years running and would recommend it to anyone especially families as there is a large flat enclosed field for the kids to play in safely. The ice cream parlour is excellent with friendly staff and great tasting ice cream of many wonderful flavours, they also do light lunches at resonable prices. I have found the easiest route is via the A 165 onto the B 1249 through Beeford and onto Skipsea. The only thing i think is missing is maybe a shower block, but for £9.75 (2010 prices) per night with hook up you can't go wrong. I will be visiting for many years to come.

The site has 5 grass pitches in a gated area, well spaced out with neatly cut grass, bins and CDP, fresh water points nearby. There are also 3 hardstandings available in adverse weather, but these are actually part of the ice cream parlour car park. There are toilet facilities during opening hours and a key (deposit required) for after hours. It is a little near the road, (late night racetrack) but wouldn't let it put you off. Access is a little hairey if approaching from Hornsea, so would recommend approach from Beeford.

The ice cream parlour on site is lovely, consisting of tea room, picnic tables and lovely snacks/teas and ice cream. There is a walk directly from the site to the beach, around 10 minute stroll, from where you can walk along the cliff/beach to Skirlington Market on a Sunday.

The touring pitches are very much an afterthought and not very well thought out as they are right at the back of a very large static site. Toilets are poor and in need of renovation. The entertainment complex is quite good with a choice of several bars with the obligatory take away, but are a long walk from the touring site.

The pitches are well spaced, the toilets, showers and washing facilities are spotless and the leisure facilities are very good. The Clubhouse has a welcome for everyone as there are rooms to cater for all, from families with young children to couples of all ages, and the meals on offer are very good and excellent value.

There is a Basketball / 5 a side court, a 9 hole Golf course, supermarket, amusement arcade and a Sunday market which is well worth a look
