Description
Opening August 2010
Even though this site is located just half a mile from the market town of Barnard Castle, Teesdale Barnard Castle Caravan Club site is set in open countryside that is designated an Area of High Landscape Value. From the site, you can enjoy a 10 minte walk along the river to Barnard Castle. Barnard Castle is a delightful town, home to the renowed Bowes Museum and a 12thC castle. It also marks the entrance to Teesdale which offers spectacular scenery following the river up to High Force and a series of other waterfalls to its source beyond the Pennine Way and Cow Green Reservoir.
The valley of Teesdale is prime walking and cycling country for those that love the outdoors, offering a wide variety of terrains to suit all abilities. For the less energetic, there are many places of interest nearby. The area's main asset is its unspoilt tranquillity.
